Just like this past Fall we are going to be holding a free Open House and Learn to Row on January 21 (12 PM to 5 pm) for interested High School and Middle School Students.  Please come and try your had at rowing.  We will have free food, rowing lessons and you can meet the current team and parents. This is a great way to see if Stewards is right for you.

It is for this reason that The Stewards Foundation; Inc. has decided to hold a camp focused only on the art of Sculling from December 26-30, 2011 at The Stewards Community Boat house in Tampa, Fl. The Camp is open to experienced masters, collegiate and high school rowers. The five (5) day camp will consist of (10) ten sessions.

"Sculling” is a lifetime sport.  It is highly technical and competitive,” notes Tom Feaster, a member of the Board of Directors of the US Rowing Association and President of The Stewards Foundation. Tom, a former national Schoolboy Singles Sculling Champion and Hall of Fame Athlete at Marietta College, will serve as a coach for this program. He will be joined by Coach Rodriguez, President of The Tampa Rowing Club and Sculling Coach at The Academy of Holy Names. Coach Rodriguez is a former World Masters silver medalist who began his Rowing career in Havana, Cuba. In the late 50’s.

During these ten (10) sessions, Rowers will be videotaped in Quads, Doubles and Singles; The Scullers will learn the science of proper rigging, the art of correct posture and balance in the shell and be provided a state of the art training schedule to improve their competitive edge.  The fee for the entire ten (10) sessions that includes breakfast each day is $500.00.  Registration and fees to be paid via Regatta Central.

Reservations are on a first come- first serving basis and space is limited so please email or call today. The Park is at the intersection of Cypress Street and North Blvd. It is positioned on the west side of the Hillsborough River.

]]>Head of the Hooch Resultshttp://rowtampa.com/home/2011/11/13/head-of-the-hooch-results.htmlCoach White2011-11-13T15:32:24Z2011-11-13T15:32:24ZThis was the first time the Stewards Juniors have raced at Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, TN.  Our goals going in were to place in the top half knowing that this was the most competitive race they had ever been part of.

Mens' 4+: 25th of 66 

Women's 4+: 24th of 80 

Mixed 8+: 12th of 31 

Congratulations to all for a great end of the fall season.  This race highlighted the effort and improvement you have all accomplished over the last 3 months.  We look forward to winter training and seeing where the spring takes us both in races and in team firsts.
